The manga was inspired by the band Kobukuro's new song of the same title. Kobukuro is the band who previously performed the ending theme song for the 'Orange' anime. It has been reported that the manga will be on the front cover of the June issue, and the first 59-page chapter will feature an opening color page. The "ONE TIMES ONE" CD single from Kobukuro that will feature the "Kimi ni Nare" song will ship on April 11. The preview of the song will be featured on the band's official website in the beginning of April.
Takano launched 'Orange', a slice-of-life romance manga series, in Bessatsu Margaret manga magazine and later in Monthly Action. The manga ended in 2015, with Futabasha publishing the fifth and final volume in November 2015. It received a sixth volume titled 'Orange Future' that shipped in Japan in May 2017. An anime television adaptation by Telecom Animation Film started to air in July 2016
Here's the synopsis of the manga according to MAL:
One morning, Naho Takamiya receives a letter in the mail claiming to be from herself 10 years in the future. The letter reveals a series of events that are supposed to take place that day. At first, Naho thinks it's just a prank; but when the letter mentions a transfer student named Kakeru Naruse, who really ends up transferring into her class later that day, she is forced to believe in its contents.
As Naho continues to read the letter, her future self mentions several regrets, urging Naho to take the right decisions now. Somehow these regrets all seem to be connected to Kakeru, and with the burden of the knowledge that the boy wouldn't be with her and her friends in the future, will Naho be able to make the perfect choices that will alter what seems to be fate?
